Metropolitan Pediatrics has office hours Monday through Friday, as well as on Saturday afternoon during the school year. Our office hours extend into the evening on Monday through Thursday, in order to accommodate parents who cannot come to the office during normal business hours.

Yes. We have a large waiting room and separate newborns or unvaccinated infants from other children who are in the office for vaccinations and routine check-ups.

During office hours, non-urgent telephone messages can be left by calling the office, and one of our pediatricians will call you back the same day.

Fall of 2020 we are opening access to our patient portal where parents and leave messages for their providers.

Due to federal privacy regulations, we currently are not able to exchange confidential medical information with individual patients via email messages. Yes. We have a pediatrician on-call whenever the office is closed to handle urgent questions that cannot wait until the office reopens. After hours, our answering service will page the on call pediatrician.  Late night calls are answer by a nursing triage service and if they are not able to answer your concerns they we consult the on-call provider.

After hours, our answering service will page the on call pediatrician. All calls are returned by a Metropolitan Pediatrics doctor, not by a doctor from another practice, a contract physician or an after-hours nursing service.

Our on call pediatrician will respond to after-hours calls and help you assess the type of care needed. In urgent situations that cannot wait until the office reopens, the on call pediatrician will guide you to the appropriate hospital emergency room or urgent care center depending on the concern.

If your child needs to be hospitalized, we will recommend a best care for the concerns.  Our pediatricians have hospital privileges at Mount Sinai West and refer most in-patient care to the Mount Sinai system. 

Yes. We have an extensive network of pediatric sub-specialists to whom we refer based on individual circumstances.  

We accept most major private insurance plans. If you would like to confirm we take your insurance plan please call the office.

We do not accept Medicaid.

We will handle all of the required paperwork and submit claims for payment by your insurance company. Any co-payments must be paid at the time of service. For patients who do not have an insurance plan accepted by us, payment in full must be made at the time of service.

Our doctors have a long history of working with children whose medical conditions call for focused and specialized care. We work with our patients, their families, and any necessary specialists to establish and maintain the optimum level of medical care needed.
